I must confess, I am a tycoon game style freak! I found that these are always popular with everyone and I just want to share a few of the ones that I personally liked the best. Here’s just a warning though, these Free Trial Games are highly addictive and only try them if you are ready to devote yourself to them. I know, all jokes aside, here are some of the most popular downloads from my site.
1) Chocolatier - This game is a throw back to the Tradewinds 2series. You go from port to port trying to save the business and first love of world renowned Chocolatier, Evangeline Braumeister. While there are no battles from port to port, there are many challenges that will keep you fascinated with this game for days on end. Make sure to keep track of which ingredients each port carries, as much of the time you are on a limited time frame for customers, ingredients, etc. Chocolatier provides a simulation punch that will keep you wanting more and more until before you know it, your hour is up and you NEED to buy the crazy thing! (Which I must throw in as a quick note here, the parent site offers plans ranging from $6.99 - $9.99 per month. A much nicer price than $19.99 if you’re on a budget such as myself and those that I know personally.)
2) Escape From Paradise - This is set along the same lines of the Virtual Villagers series. In Escape From Paradise, you are shipwrecked and have to find your way off of the lush island you’re on. Teach your survivors how to build, gather food, and gather wood to pass through the challenges and find all of the missing radio parts so that you may get back to civilization one day. There are many side games and challenges that bring value to this game.
3) Fairy Godmother Tycoon - As the apprentice to the Fairy Godmother, help her to rebuild her potion making empire and restore her to her former glory. You have to manage all business avenues from making sure you have enough ingredients, setting the prices, hiring employees, to hiring goons to promote your potion shop. If you can make your customers happy, they actually throw bags of money out to you! So many little quirks in this game will keep you continuing to play just to try different outcomes and scenerios.
4) Ice Cream Tycoon - A throw to the Lemonade Tycoon genre, Ice Cream Tycoon will keep you going for a long, long time. Purchase the cart of your choice, stock it, upgrade it, and set your prices to pick the best neighborhood for the weather. Make tons of money and get through the challenges, if you can! (I have owned the game for 3 months now and am STILL trying valiantly, I must say, to get through all of the challenges.)
5) Westward - Okay, so how many remember getting to play Oregon Trail in gradeschool? Now there is a version for the adults too! Set along the same themes, help each devastated town rebuild to its former glory and get to the bottom of the Mad Russian’s plan with the infamous Copperhead Gang. You need to gather food by building farms and ranches, sober up the drunks by building a sheriff’s office or church, build homes, water towers, wells, and much much more. Don’t forget to complete each of your missions and go on the side quests to gain knowledge and supplies. With all that is going on in this wild west epic, it is a definate must have for any cowboy or cowgirl.
